Meet James Andrews – Master Steel Pan Tuner & Cultural Leader
James Andrews began playing steel pan at 13 in Trinidad. His musical journey spans thousands of tuned pans, iconic bands like Desperadoes and All Stars, and international performances, including Expo 67.
In 1984, James founded Pan World, a community band in Montreal. His work preserves Caribbean steel pan culture while mentoring new generations in Canada and worldwide.
James Andrews is one of the few elite steel pan tuners in North America with roots in Trinidad’s original steelband movement.
